Easy Parking at Heathrow Airport

Friday, September 9th, 2011

we’ve had so many excellent reviews regarding Heathrow airport parking that we felt it needed a special mention.

Nearly all the reviews had one thing in common, and that was the ease at which clients could find, park and leave the car parks. this common trend was obvious whether parking on or off the airport.

A typical example of the many reviews we’ve received is as follows :

King
Parked at Quality Airport Parking – Undercover – Heathrow Airport

“Simple straightforward undercover parking. Greeted by name on arrival I thought was a nice touch. As phone signal is so bad around T5 was unable to ring in on return but managed to catch the transfer coach on spec but car was waiting for me in the departure car park. Very quick and professional service. Felt secure leaving car there. Price was fair also. Will def use again. “

Airport Car Park Videos Available.

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Ever wanted to be able to see an airport car park in action before you buy your parking spot.

You wouldn’t want to have to drive down to the car park and see it for yourself, that would be just a bit too much!

So to cater for those of you who would truly like to see before you buy we’ve introduced into our website the option to view a car park’s video.

Those nice people at HolidayExtras TV have created some very nice videos of selected car parks throughout the UK and we at UK Airport Car Parks have incorporated this into our site.

How It Works.

If you’re generally browsing around our site you’ll no doubt come across some of our informative pages relating to specific airport car parks. On these pages we’ve added a new tab called “View Car Park Video”, you just click on the tab and click pay… it’s that simple.

We’ve also introduced this feature into all of our search results pages, so you’ve entered your parking dates and clicked on the ”Compare Prices” button. Now when you view the returned results you’ll see a simple text link below each car park which has a video to view. See image below.

Try it and see what you think. Click here to read more about airport parking videos.

Start Your Holiday a Day Earlier This Year.

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

park-inn-hotel-heathrow-airportHave you ever found yourself not being able to wait until the start of your holiday? What if you could start it a day early?

Well you can, and at the same time save yourself a possible load of stress and hurrying around. We’re talking about booking your usual airport parking along with a hotel stay the night before you fly out.

Many people seem to think that an airport hotel with parking would be too expensive but surprisingly it cost alot less than you’d think.

A Couple of Typical Examples of Costs.

For example parking at Gatwick airport for a week in February can cost anything from £44 to £65, whereas choosing a hotel with parking at the hotel costs  £75 at the Gatwick Worth hotel which is less than 5 miles from Gatwick airport. Yes, you would have to add on £4 for your transfer from the hotel to the airport but we’re sure you’ll agree that it still is good value for money.

If you were to choose  Birmingham airport parking for 2 weeks in February you could park at Airparks Birmingham for £55 but if you chose to stay at the Britannia Hotel which is just 6 miles from the airport you’d pay just £69 plus £5 for your return transfer from the hotel to the airport. So in this case for an extra £19 including transfers you get a hotel stay the night before you fly out.

Take Time Out and Relax.

You could use time like this to properly unwind before your holiday starts proper, go out for a meal, have a few drinks, whatever you want, one thing is for sure there won’t be any mad rush in your car to the airport the next morning.

An Important Tip From UK Airport Car Parks.

Friday, January 21st, 2011

Select the right terminal when booking airport parking.

Select the right terminal when booking airport parking.

Make Sure You Know Which Terminal You’re Flying From!

Sometimes, not very often, but sometimes (not from our website though) we’ve heard of occasions when a holidaymaker has booked their airport parking only to find out that the car park they are parking in does not serve the terminal they are flying from.

Imagine booking your airport parking then arriving at the airport only to find out that the transfer bus doesn’t actually go to your terminal, Panic!!

Some airport parking websites are very good at displaying which terminals are served by which car parks and some even require you to enter the terminal you’re flying from when booking online. However some do not display this very important information and even if they do some tend to not highlight it enough so it’s easily overlooked.

Here at UK Airport Car Parks we’ve made it very simple to know which car park serves which terminal. After you’ve entered your car parking dates and hit “Compare Prices” we return the availabilty which clearly shows in red which terminals are served by each car park.

So remember, take a little time to make sure you’ve booked the right car park for you, especially if you’re booking Heathrow airport parking simply because of the number of terminals it has.

ON Airport Parking Costs at Gatwick Airport Increase!

Apparently there is some displeasure at the soaring cost of parking a car at Gatwick airport. According to a recent article if you wanted to park on the airport in Gatwick’s Long Stay car park for a given week in December 2010 it would cost you £75.20, an increase of around 67% based on same dates last year.

If you read our recent post on ON vs. OFF Airport Parking Charges or read our webpage – Comparing the Cost of OFF and ON Airport Parking you would already know that if people just searched a bit more and not always chose the official on airport parking car parks that you could save a lot of money.

For example using the UK Airport Car Parks website you could get parking off the airport itself for only £49.60, a saving of £25.60. The only real difference being that you would have a bus transfer journey of about 8 minutes as apposed to the 3 minutes with the Long Stay car park on Gatwick airport.

Please visit our webpage to see some other ON vs. OFF airport car parking comparisons.

Save a Bit More Money When Buying Airport Parking

Save a Bit More Money When Buying Airport Parking

How to Save a Bit More Money on Your UK Airport Parking

At UK Airport Car Parks we’ve always talked about comparing car parks and pre booking to save money. Whilst these two things are vital to saving money on airport parking in the UK, there is another way to save just that bit more.

If you look at any of the official airport websites they only offer you car parks which are on the airport. These car parks are generally more expensive than car parks located off the airport compound. One of the main reasons for this is because most on airport car parks are more convenient for holidaymakers simply because they are closer to the airport terminal, the downside to this convenience is that they generally cost more.

Obviously on airport car parks are not always more expensive than car parks off the airport and it has to be said that some of them offer real value for money with excellent security even when compared to off airport car parks. However, it still remains that in general you pay less for parking off the airport.

On and Off UK Airport Parking

For example if you parked at Birmingham airport for 1 week in December 2010 an on airport car park would cost you £66.00 whereas an off airport car would cost you £29.92 with the only real difference being that at the off airport car park you would have to make a 10 minute or so bus transfer journey.

So the next time you’re looking on the internet for airport parking don’t just go straight to the official airport website, take your time to look around because you could find a website like UK Airport Car Parks.

Well UK Airport Car Parks clearly shows you where your car will be parked allowing you to easily select hotel stays with parking at a secure parking compound.

You could also just ask at the airport information desks to find out where any possible hotspots are, but by far the easiest way is to just try to connect when at the airport.

It also has to be noted that a lot of the cafes and bars at airports offer their own wifi service. Also most airport lounges offer internet access, either wifi or internet connected pc’s.

Parking Costs More Than The Flight

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

There was an interesting piece in one of the travel publications the other week, it gave examples of various holidaymakers who had actually paid more for their airport parking than they did for their flight. When I read this I couldn’t really believe it, but even more so I certainly could not believe the vast amounts some people were paying for parking especially at Gatwick and Heathrow airports. It made me think that these people must have been paying the “gate price” for their parking and not pre-booking !

Take the first example, a young man from Stevenage flying from Gatwick to Alicante in June, he has a flight with Ryanair and is paying £109 including taxes for his flight. Now here comes the astonishing bit.. he has been quoted £153 to park at a well known car park just off Gatwick airport, that’s an unbelievable £44 more than the cost of his flight !

The second example is even worse. Again a single person flying to Dublin Ireland from London Heathrow with Flybmi in April. They paid £91 including taxes and fees for a two week return economy flight. However to park their car at one of the car parks actually on the compound at Heathrow airport cost a staggering £238.50  !! This is of course an arrive on the day and pay price and not a pre-booking price. To get this into context the cheapest car parking at Heathrow I could find for a two week period in April was around £81, which was a pre-book price, so I guess parking generally at Heathrow is rather expensive.

Save on Airport Parking in the UK

The obvious lesson to be learnt here is to pre-book your airport parking. this is something I have done for the past six years, so I guess when I see rates quoted at well over £200 I am really shocked, I mean some people must actually pay those amounts !

To all those people out there who insist on paying these ridiculous amounts, take a look at UK Airport Car Parks, or here especially if you need Gatwick airport parking or Heathrow airport parking.
