Flying into Geneva Airport
We nearly always go to the 3 Vallees in France for our skiing holiday. There are so many runs of all levels you could ski there for a month and still not get round them all. The real attraction to France and the 3 Vallees for me and my family is the whole atmosphere, from the fantastic chalets everywhere to the brilliant mountain restaurants and the lively bars in almost every town.
We stayed in Le Praz this year which is a fantastic little skiing village. Everything was close to our chalet (Le Petite Bucher) including a bar for us and the kids to watch the football and rugby in. We’ve been to Austria and Andorra before but we think nowhere compares to skiing in France.

If I had to choose a couple of my favourite runs it would have to be “Le Pic” which is quite steep for a blue run and definitely “Le Lapin” which runs down towards Meribel Village. Prices in certain parts of the 3 Vallees such as Courchevel 1850 are quite expensive but in a strange sort of way you get use to paying anything from £5 to £12 for a drink! One thing we did notice this year and that was the fact that all the resorts were a lot quieter so maybe the credit crunch and the euro/pound exchange rate was keeping a few families away.
