Heavy Fog left Passengers stranded on a plane at Gatwick for Eight hours

Passengers were left stranded on a plane on the tarmac at Gatwick Airport for more than eight hours.

The Air India flight flying from Mumbai to Heathrow Airport was diverted to Gatwick at 08:00 BST on Sunday because of heavy fog.  Waiting for such long hours made passengers on plane very restless and they kept talking to staff at the airplane door about take off.

Flight resumed its journey at 17:00 BST, arriving at Heathrow 20 minutes later.

Air India said the bad weather conditions, take off slots and crewing hours caused delays.

I’d love to be jetting out to Perth, Australia to watch England demolish Australia in the third test.
Unfortunately I’m not! I’m stuck in the UK freezing to death!

I’ve not seen such a polished performance by an England team in an ashes series since Ian Botham took them apart.
So I just wanted to say “Come on England!” Let’s make it 4:0.

If you are lucky enough to be going out to Australia don’t forget your airport parking.

Self Parking Cars!

There have been a few articles in some of the car magazines over the past month or so about “self parking” cars, do they really work, are they really necessary, is it safe etc..?

I personally would not want my car to park itself, it just doesn’t seem right. Anyway, it was after reading one of these articles that I suddenly remembered about a “Tomorrows World” programme I saw many years ago (for those of you who don’t know what Tomorrow World was, it was a programme which showcased prototypes and advances in technology which were to come).

Just take a look at the video clip from the Tomorrow World programme, it’s strange the way they originally envisaged a car parking itself. Also note that they are predicting proximity sensors.

What would be really interesing is to find out what exactly makes an airport good for you? It could be anything from how close the airport is to you to what kind of airport lounges they have.
