Long 60 years designing and invention has been able to provide a driverless, battery powered and laser guided pod to carry passengers between terminals at London’s Heathrow airport. This automatic travel pods has been designed by a British transport company called ULTRA.
The driverless vehicle has capacity of four people to carry between the business car park and the main building. It can travel at up to 25mph with average wait of just 34 seconds. Travel pods use laser sensors so the pods find their way around.
This driverless vehicle is estimated to cut number of bus journeys around the Heathrow by 50,000 per year, says BAA.
